As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines


  1. The journal accepts Humanities papers in Polish and English, as well as in other
    congress languages. The length of an article, source, or review/discussion should not
    exceed 3 publisher’s sheets (1 publisher’s sheet contains 22 pages of normalized
    typescript, i.e. about 40 000 characters including spaces). The editorial team reserves
    the right to make abridgements in agreement with the author.
  2. The editorial team reserves the right to return the paper to the author so that it may be
    correctly formatted and rewritten should its external form not adhere to the above
    guidelines.
  3. Papers should be submitted in an electronic version, as a text file (doc, docx, rtf) to the
    address [central office’s address to be added].
  4. All submissions must include information about the author, specifying the following:
    • first name and surname
    • academic title and degree
    • name and address of the home academic institution, or other affiliation
    • address for correspondence, e-mail, and telephone number.
  5. The following should be attached to the paper:
    • abstract max. 2500 characters
    • key words
    • bibliography; rules for editing the bibliography are provided in annexe no. 1
      note about the author containing basic information: year of birth, profession or
      academic degree, place of work, field of interest in history, and principal scholarly
      works
    • illed author’s declaration (annexe no. 2)
  6. The formatting and editing details are precisely defined. The editorial team requests
    authors to follow the publisher’s instructions (annexe no. 3)
  7. Ghostwriting prevention. The editorial team demands that the names and affiliations
    of all persons who have contributed to the content of the publication be disclosed.
    Ghostwriting and guest authorship are an indication of scientific misconduct. All
    detected cases will be made public, and relevant entities will be notified.
  8. The editorial team should be notified about the publication’s funding sources, as well
    as the contribution of research institutions, associations, and other entities.
