As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • Utwór przesłany do redakcji "Komunizm: system-ludzie-dokumentacja" jest rezultatem własnej twórczości i nie narusza praw autorskich innych osób; w szczególności utwór nie był wcześniej publikowany
  • Zgłoszona publikacja została przesłana w formacie edytowalnym.
  • Publikacja została przesłana w formie zanonimizowanego pliku.
  • Tekst publikacji jest złożony stylem zasadniczym w programie Microsoft Word i zapisany w formatach: doc., .docx (Word 2007) lub RTF
  • Tekst publikacji złożony jest czcionką Times New Roman (12 pkt), interlinia 1,5, marginesy 2,5.
  • Obiekty graficzne (schematy, wykresy) umieszczone są w osobnych plikach, a w tekście zaznaczono ich miejsce (na przykład: il. 1, tab. 2). Przy materiałach ilustracyjnych podano ich źródła

Author Guidelines

Information for the authors of the paper submitted to Komunizm: system–ludzie–dokumentacja.

The editorial board asks all authors for complying to the following rules on submitting the texts to publication in periodical.

  1. All texts should be sent in electronic format to our post address or email.
  2. The English texts should follow the Chicago Manual of Style rules.
  3. The reference numbers of footnotes should be placed after the punctuation marks: periods closing the sentence, colons, semicolons, and quotation marks (see Chicago Manual of Style 13.18, 13.29)
  4. In bibliography and footnotes the following scheme of citing sources should be kept (see Chicago Manual of Style 13.30 and ff.):
  5. note citing archival sources: the name of the archive, the name of the collection, reference number/symbol, volume, title of the document, date, page number.
  6. note citing books: initial of the author’s first name, author’s last name, Title of the book [Italicized], volume (place, name of editor, date of publication), page/s. Chapters published in books edited by many authors: initial of the author’s first name, author’s last name, “Title of the chapter” [in quotation marks], In Title of the book, etc.
  7. notes citing papers published in the periodicals: initial of the author’s first name, author’s last name, “Title of the paper” [in quotation marks], Title of the periodical [Italicized] issue/s number/s (year): pages.
  8. the use of abbrevations ibid. [ibidem], id. [idem], op.cit. [opera citato], loc. cit. [loco citato] as well as eadem, passim (Italicized) is allowed (see Chicago Manual of Style 13.37, 13.38, 13.39), however use of shortened forms is advised (see Chicago Manual of Style 13.33).
  9. In the body of the text the generally used abbreviations should be used (e.g., etc., i.a., i.e.), as well as y. (year), c. (century), other specialized abbreviations used in the literature in the field are also allowed, with explanation of its meaning. In the body of the text as well as in notes the dates should be written as follows: 3 July 1969.
  10. In the review article the texts should be preceded by title consisting of first and last name of the author of the reviewed work, title and subtitle of the work (as in the title page); if the article reviews the publication with many authors, the title should be followed by first and last name of the editor, and number of volumes or parts (if apply) (e.g. Vol. 1–2), then the name of the publisher, place and date of publishing, and number of pages. The name of the review article’s author should be placed in the end of the text on the right side.
  11. The editorial board reserves the right to send back the text to the author with request for proper preparation and rewording when differing from the rules listed above.
  12. The text should not exceed 50 thousand characters (with spaces) (i.e. ca 10 thousand words). The editorial boards reserves the right to abbreviate the text in the accord with the author.
  13. The editorial board requests for adding to the manuscript: a. abstract (not exceeding 2500 characters, i.e. ca 500 words), b. the list of keywords, c. author’s biographical note, containing basic information: year of birth, profession of academic title, place of employment, the scope of research interest and most important publications. The editorial board requests also information concerning academic affiliation and academic identifier (ORCID, Web of Science Researcher ID, Scopus Author ID, etc.).
