The Archival Review of the Institute of National Remembrance is a scholarly periodical published by the Archive of the Institute of National Remembrance (formerly the Office for the Preservation and Dissemination of IPN Archival Records) since 2008. It is aimed at presenting issues related to broadly understood archival science in the context of the functioning of the Institute’s archival division and the nature of its collected holdings. Information concerning various aspects of IPN archival activity is published in the journal. The promotion of the collected holdings through critical discussions and editions of the most interesting archival documents also occupies an important place. The format of the journal allows for the publication of works prepared by researchers from other research centres and archives who use IPN’s repository or wish to join the academic debate on archival science and source studies.

The Archival Review of the Institute of National Remembrance can be found in the scored listing of scientific journals and peer-reviewed materials of international conferences published by the Minister of Education and Science on 5 January 2024, where it received forty pts. (It received seventy points in the 17 July 2023 listing and forty points in the 9 February 2021 listing). It also figures in the Index Copernicus International – Journals Master List indexing database (ICV value for 2023 was 96.63), in the ERIH Plus reference list of journals, in the SCOPUS database of abstracts and citations from peer-reviewed publications, in the Polish citation database POL-index, and in the bibliographic databases BazHum and CEJSH.

The editor-in-chief of the Archival Review of the Institute of National Remembrance is Dr. Mariusz Żuławnik, deputy director of the IPN Archive, while the editorial secretary is Paweł Tomasik, senior archival custodian at AIPN. Previously the position of editor-in-chief was held by Dr. Jerzy Bednarek, while the position of editorial secretary was held by Dr. Paweł Perzyna, from 2008–2018 (volumes 1–11).

The editors of the Archival Review of the Institute of National Remembrance advise that the primary (reference) version of the journal is the printed edition (ISSN 1899-1254).
